Dainty Doilies

You Know You're Getting Old

when the date stamp you use to mark your fifth birthday is in fact a vintage one :)



Collage created this afternoon using vintage reader image, old dressmaking tissue and sheet music, vintage doily, "party frock" vintage book page, the jelly word is an old diner menu piece, vintage millinery pick and monopoly money, paper lace, vintage candle and some old satin ribbon.

Wording reads "She was a party girl ... through and through, she's being splendid in taffeta and cream"

On My Table Today

There is something really special about crafting with something that belonged to your grandmother, these pinking shears are amongst my most treasured possessions, nestled amongst some pretty stuff ready for some serious creating! The cake sprinkle bottles hold glass glitter, originally I bought these with 50 year old sprinkles inside, they were still so pretty but the thought of coming home to some "special" cupcakes was too much to bear so I cleaned them out and now use the set to hold my glass glitter.

I have a thing for paper dolls, love them and this month we have some at Ruby St, some reproductions in kits such as Gossip and some original vintage ones too.

Splendour On A Shoestring

Our May collection is in store now. A Dustland Fairytale. For the gorgeous women who have purchased a subscription, thank you, paypal invoices will be sent out over the weekend. Shipping Tuesday 5th May. We still have a handful left.





We had a slight change to the collection, I swapped the fabric, works much better I think and it's a girls perogative don't you think? Anyway we hope you love the vintage millinery and the extra special bling oh and that swan well he's something else.
