Spring Cleaning

We've been spring cleaning the website this weekend, making way for new goodies. We have deleted some categories. Our focus over the next couple of months will be pockets of whimsy, collage cardmaking kits and vintage ephemera, just working on maintaining balance and keeping those things which we are absolutely passionate about. We have started uploading this months pockets of whimsy, had so much fun collecting treasures for this one, love a good bit of old fashioned glam and have always loved the 40's and 50's era when you went dancing each Saturday night. Some of my favourite photos are those of my Mum and Dad taken at (the now defunct thanks to the Dean Brothers but we are so not going there today) Cloudland.

We are delighted to welcome Anastasia Christou to our design team. Anastasia's blog is like going to a girlfriends house for a cup of tea - so good for the soul and speaking of blog's Joanne has a new one, check it out her art journal is pure eye candy.

We will be back later in the month to share the Glamour Girl's inspiration with you for our Sugar Sandwiches kit and this months pockets of whimsy, and a glimpse into April at Ruby St with our next pocket full of whimsy range, ruby st goes retro, a tribute to growing up in the 70's the wallpaper is even the same colours I had in my bedroom.

Have a great week

Sometimes .....

you come across something so special that you just can't wait to share ......

I couldn't resist popping a few of our March pocket full of whimsies in the shop whilst working in the studio today. These pencils, oh my, my heart skipped a beat, miniature pencils attached to dance cards in the 1940's so so sweet and so for the first time we have some reproductions in our pocket full of whimsies, copies from my personal collection of vintage dance invites. Vintage rhinestones, pearlie button cards and old fashioned play money with the most amazing graphics. Hope you love them too.

Some Creating To Share

Continuing on in my visual resolutions /saving myself a whole heap of money in therapy journey, a collage I created yesterday when my good friend Mandy came to play. There is nothing better when it is raining to create with a good friend, drinking cups of tea from the royal doulton china cups you have been covetting forever and they've just come to live with you(thanks Mum love you!!) and eating choccie chip biccies .... Bliss!

And the journalling reads "That was the thing she was to remember most. How the past days had been almost miraculously fine. How small problems had ironed themselves out. The surface of life had been calm and unruffled. So very different from the storm that lay ahead" Sentences from the most divine vintage book bought recently "Endangered Love" I tell you it is a veritable treasure trove of fabulous prose!
Backing is an old flyer from the Caloundra Drive In, does anyone else miss the drive in such an icon such a shame my kids have never been, 1954 Australian Home Journal and ruth the dress up doll, 1920s alphabet beads, bling and the backing piece of a Heidi Swapp chandelier stamp.
Oh and a piccie of the new dinner service from my Mum which was from her mum on her wedding day
