Reality ...

So in my life outside Ruby St I am a secretary (which would explain my fascination with vintage typewriters and office paraphernalia). About 2 months ago I went to work for my boy which was an interesting concept because in theory he is now my boss. He thought that was too funny and constantly reminded me of that, I in turn would remind him I only worked for 6 hours a day and in fact I was fine with that because in the other 18 we both knew who the boss was :) , but I digress today I received my first abusive phone call from a customer and it got me thinking of a new reality television concept because lets face it we need something new, how funny would it be to tape the 10 seconds after you put the phone down from a cranky customer,I am sure anyone in the office administration field would agree what do you do when you are getting abused for no reason, you are calm in the face of adversity, you put the phone down, say some choice words whilst looking directly at the phone and then even sometimes you think, oh i hope i put the phone down properly before I said that!

And so I did receive some goodies in the mail today, I have been stalking the letterbox for the most divine collection of glamour girls for pocket full of whimsys but not here as yet so I can't show you those but I can show you some new wares being released on Sunday, the first piccie is vintage wooden paper bag holders and the second is our new range of "Beauty School Drop Outs" - vintage trimmings wrapped around a vintage mathematics flashcard.

Wishing everyone a great rest of the week

Op Shopping Finds

recycled glam

shoes fit for a queen

It's early morning here, the sun is about to rise, the birds are starting to sing and the rest of the family are still tucked up in bed fast asleep. This is my "me" time, the time I am in the studio, creating or packing up orders, it nurtures my creative soul. Still a market girl at heart, up at the crack of dawn, my boy says I have gypsy in my blood, makes me smile.

So I thought I would do an opshop share, some latest treasures collected along the way.

There's just something about the combination of navy and pink, I love it. Vintage pink ric rac and old fashioned buckles. Shoes fit for a queen, a glimpse into what's coming in June the "Glamour Girl Closet" section of the shop. Back to where it all began for me, a selection of vintage and vintage inspired clothes, shoes and accessories - such fun! And finally a photo of my new bag, bought yesterday morning at the Endeavour Foundation for $15.00 and a top to match, love this colour combination too and am looking forward to pairing these two new acquisitions with a pair of jeans.

Watched the 2nd episode of Bed of Roses last night, seriously loving this new ABC show had to laugh when Louisa is having a garage sale of her glam clothes only to take back her favourite Collette Dinnigan dress when someone admires it only to have it chewed by the newly acquired pony and the scene with a pair of scissors, mens clothes, prawns and a traded in for a younger version ex wife! We then watched Wife Swap, havent watched it for ages. Before my big girl left home we would have Trash Tuesdays on telly and sit down and watch wife swap and then we would have Wentworth Wednesdays and watch prison break (what happened to that show, it just stopped) and eat the most divine wood fired pizza from town. It was tradition in our household. And so they have been advertising Australian Wife Swap, I always tell my kids I'm applying when they come to Australia so I figure they will have to find someone who is completely organised, a minimalist and has an unnatural aversion to glitter!

Happy Sunday

Happy Mothers Day

So besides the obvious one of the best things about Mothers Day is that you don't have to do the weekly Sunday grocery shop, got to love that. This weekend has been one of those potter around the house chill out kind of weekends, watching two great movies which I saw at the cinemas but loved so much had to watch again, PS I Love You and Waitress which would have to be up there with some of my all time faves and found a new tv show to watch, dont watch a lot of telly but was seriously addicted to The Biggest Loser (so wanted Alison to win) and have been missing my 7.00pm fix so last night found Bed of Roses on the ABC, an Aussie production with Kerry Armstrong, its great, loved it, looking forward to next week.

Tonight we are having dinner with three of our girls, two of their boys, our mums and the best bit is one of our girls has this little darling in her belly, we are all so very excited.

And just a quick note to my baby (yes you will always be my baby) who lives a ridiculously long way away pursuing your own path, you started this whole deal called motherhood, the laughter, the tears, the love, the raw emotion and I am so grateful, I wouldnt change a second of it (not even those teenage years) I am blessed.
